You decided to write a book. Congratulations, that's great! Being an author can gain you recognition and help your business draw more clients And if those are your only goals, then the faster you write your book, the better. However, if you are just focusing on having a book fast, you might miss one of the best reasons for having a book...and that is to make money.
The quick and easy way to attract more recognition and clients is "slowing down and taking the time to create a bestselling business around your book", says book business expert DrProactive Randy Gilbert. He says that you will be rewarded with a better book, more money, and a continuing stream of income that far exceeds what the book alone would have earned.
DrProactive calls it a "bestselling business," because it can make you a bestselling author and a millionaire at the same time. You can use these three steps to create an information business centered on your book.
Step 1:
Make a list of the top 10 benefits (20 is better) you can provide for your clients. Next write down 7 methods to make those benefits happen (i.e. the tools, tricks, and plans from your own expertise that can help solve their problems). Congratulations, you have the Table of Contents for your book.
Step 2:
Use the same expert knowledge that will be going into your book to create other information products. One of the fastest products to create is a Teleseminar.
Ask someone with an e-mail list (friend or JV partner) to interview you over the phone and invite their followers to listen. This is a real win-win, because they get good free content to give to their list, and you get a sound file that can be transcribed as part of your book. A one hour phone interview could become an entire chapter of your book. Repeat the process for each chapter in your Table of Contents, and your book will be done in no time.
Besides helping your create your book, there are at least six more possible information products that will help you make money during the writing process. Each of these options will help you to Pre-Sell your books before they are published. By pre-selling your book you can often sell enough copies so that you become a bestselling author when your book is published. You'll get more clients and recognition by achieving bestseller status than you would by just being an author.
Step 3:
Use the 80-20 rule as a habit and work on the most important thing everyday. One hour a day would be wonderful but at least half an hour would be great. Even on your busiest days, try to do at least 10 minutes at some point. Don't focus on perfection, just take action. Write a first draft, find an editor or revise it yourself.
Rearrange your priorities and start writing your book today by creating a bestselling business. In 90 to 180 days, you will have the first draft of a great if you follow these steps, and you'll have enough books pre-sold to make be a bestseller as soon as it's published, as well as passive income to help put your business in the black.
There is no time like the present. Get started right now with building a bestselling business around your book. By doing so, you will be quickly writing your bestselling book and creating a million dollar business at the same time. |
